Description:
Founded in 2003, Slottsfjell has grown organically, year on year, from what was a tiny event for local indie kids to a national player in 2008.
Building on the success of the previous year?s event, Slottsfjell 2009 again saw a record breaking year for the festival, which took place over the weekend 16-18 July in Tønsberg, Norway?s oldest city. The festival site itself is steeped in history, recorded in many a viking saga and encompasses the old town castle, one tower of which was rebuilt in the 1800s and still stands proud above the fjord today.
The festival site includes a natural amphitheatre for the main stage at the foot of the hill and from the stages at the top, a stunning view over the city of Tønsberg and the surrounding fjords.
