Description:
Best Major Festival category winner - Open’er is the Polish largest music and performing arts festival – definitely the most important and influential event in the region where people from more than 30 countries enjoy the best performances having the best weekend of the year. Total area of festival in Gdynia-Kosakowo airfield makes 75 hectares of space for one to explore and contains 7 stages, around 140 artists, festival town with merchandising area, gastronomic zones, camp site, beach, sea and sun, space for sport activities and multimedia, NGOs, films, theatres and performances. 10 hectares are dedicated to campers – place where the true festival admirers are sleeping in their tents after the sun goes up. Next to the Main Stage, Tent Stage, World Stage, Young Talents Stage, Beat Stage and Alter Space new special and creative places will come into existence. During previous editions our audience have seen great artists such as: Björk, Beastie Boys, Jay-Z, Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Snoop Dogg, Kanye West, Placebo, Sonic Youth, Groove Armada, Pharrell Williams, LCD Soundsystem, Faithless, Erykah Badu, Fatboy Slim, The White Stripes, Underworld, Basement Jaxx, Kings of Leon, Arctic Monkeys, The Prodigy, Moby, Duffy, The Kooks, Pendulum, Q-Tip and White Lies. This year confirmed: Pearl Jam, Kasabian, Massive Attack, Pavement, Nas & Damian Marley, Grace Jones, Hot Chip, The Hives, Ben Harper and Relentless7, Empire Of The Sun, Klaxons, Skunk Anansie, Tricky, Regina Spektor, Yeasayer, Matisyahu, Mando Diao, Gorillaz Sound System and Tinariwen.
