BETA VERSION OF VIRTUAL FESTIVALS EUROPE UNVEILED

Virtual Festivals.com, the producers of the annual UK Festival Awards, have launched a brand new award category and unveiled the beta version of their brand new, pan-European festival portal. In partnership with Yourope (The European Festival Association) Virtual Festivals Europe (VFEU) will seek to aggregate more than 3000 music festivals, 20,000 performing artists and 50 Million festival-goers across 45 countries, building on Virtual Festivals’ market-leading format and brand in the UK. To celebrate the innovation of VFEU, Virtual Festivals.com has launched a new award category as part of their annual UK Festival Awards. The ‘Best European Festival’ will honour the pioneering live music events across Europe and will showcase the sheer volume of outdoor music events available on the continent.

As well as delivering comprehensive listings information, breaking news and editorial, the Virtual Festivals Europe site will empower visitors to:

  • Find and connect to events, artists and other users that match their personal preferences (from location to music taste).
  • Collectively document the festival scene in real time by uploading their own reviews, blogs, ratings, photos and videos.
  • Set the standard of the future of the festival landscape by broadcasting their feedback via comments, postings, ratings and voting in the Best European Festival Award.

Says Steve Jenner, Virtual Festivals CEO and Founder: “It is an honour and a privilege of the greatest magnitude to be extending our services to the festival-goers of Europe.

Our mission is to add a tremendous amount of value to both fans and industry by changing the way people interact with and enjoy events online. Although our priority will always be to serve the fan, our work will create powerful, innovative and highly cost effective new marketing platforms for promoters by connecting them directly to their audience at-large, as we have done in the UK over the last decade.

The full version of Virtual Festivals Europe is due to launch at the start of 2009 with all the information and listings for the year ahead.
