Baleléc is a one-night music festival which takes place in May every year. Since being founded over three decades ago, Festival Balélec has steadily grown to become the largest student-organised music festival in Europe, with more than 15’000 festival-goers.
Over the years, Balélec has become a prominent festival in Switzerland, especially in the francophone region of the country. Nowadays, Balélec is composed of 5 stages and clubs, 20 concerts, 40 students in the organization committee, 350 volunteers during the night and a budget of more than 650’000 CHF. Festival Balélec’s primary objective is to offer a large variety of styles of music.
For several years, the festival has been sold-out with a record of more than 11’000 tickets sold in less than 5 hours for the 2015 edition.
Balélec is engaged to maintain high social and ecological responsibility standards and has been the first festival in Switzerland to be certified ISO 20121.
